Booking a Session
If you want more information, you can book in to our completely free 15 minute initial consultation. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have regarding your treatment, what you’d like to achieve, how we can help you reach your goals (plus whatever else comes to mind).
If you’ve signed up to a package or are an existing client, you can book in using the ‘50 minute appointment’ button. A 50 minute session is our standard session and we aim to get you closer to your goal at the end of four to six sessions.
Hypnotherapy is highly effective because it works quickly and effectively. Evidence suggests that it is as effective as CBT (the NHS’s chosen format of therapy work because of the large bank of evidence to support it) but it allows you to do this in a gentle, relaxing way.

Therapy Vault
Therapy Vault is a resource pack full of CBT based journalling activities. These are designed to allow you to make steady progress and get to know yourself better.
Once you know yourself better, you can begin to work on making progress and feeling better about yourself. The whole process is built with therapy in mind. It’s designed to be printable, but you can also complete it on a piece of paper if you can’t access a printer.
If you sign up to sessions with JW Therapy, you’ll get free access to all of the resources at Therapy Vault as part of your journey.

We're primarily focused on hypnotherapy and providing a hypnotherapy service that is either accessible through the pre-recorded sessions to work alongside the extensive journalling resources created entirely in-house, or through 1-2-1 sessions.
We work especially well with anxiety, sleep issues and procrastination, but as a service we offer support for a range of phobias, fears and patterns of behaviour that are holding you back.

James Williamson is an accredited Hypnotherapist with a Level 3 qualification from the Princes Trust in Hypnotherapy with Counselling Skills. This gives accreditation through the National Hypnotherapy Society. He also possesses a Level 4 in Integrative Psychotherapy. As of 2026, a level 5 will bring accreditation from the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society). This means that currently,

We have a couple of locations in Leeds, one in the city centre and others available in Kirkstall. Both office spaces are very easy to get to and the Kirkstall office has on-site parking. It’s important that you can access as much peace and quiet as possible to allow you to fully relax into your session and these spaces offer that.

There are several studies that suggest that hypnotherapy online has an almost identical outcome to face-to-face. From experience, it’s dependent on how much space you can get and whether you can feel genuinely like you’ll be free from unplanned interruptions. These can largely be avoided in face-to-face sessions in a way that is controlled by the hypnotherapist.
Much like any talk therapy, if you don’t feel like you’re in a space that you can talk comfortably, then it’ll be less effective, but we’ve got lots of positive reviews from online work up to this point.
